Ramban: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Showkat Aijaz Bhat convened a high level meeting to review the traffic scenario on Nashri to Jawahar tunnel stretch of Jammu- Srinagar National Highway ahead of bi-annual move of civil Secretariat and other offices to Summer Capital Srinagar.
The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police Anita Sharma, SSP Traffic, J.S Johar, ADDC Nawab Din, ADC Dr. Basharat Hussain, CPO Kasturi Lal, ACR Harbans Sharma, CMO, Dr. Saif-din-Khan and representatives of construction companies and other officers of civil departments.
The DDC reviewed the arrangements being put in place by the construction agencies for reducing traffic pressure on National Highway and ensuring better road condition for smooth plying of vehicles. He directed the construction companies to station adequate men and machinery, specifically at vulnerable locations from Nashri to Banihal for early restoration of highway to deal with any eventuality and land sliding.
He directed the traffic police authorities to regulate traffic efficiently for easy passing of darbar move vehicles at roads and construction sites.
Later, the DDC also discussed the arrangements for forthcoming annual Amarnath Yatra . He issued instructions to the companies engaged on job for removing all bottlenecks on National Highway.
