Srinagar: Former Revenue Minister and Chairman PDF Hakeem Yaseen has strongly objected to the assertions made by the BJP in its just released election manifestive-2019 that BJP was committed to annulling Article 35-A of the Constitution of India adding that existence of the Article was a matter of life and death for the people of the state. He said by ignoring sentiments and emotions of the people of the state attached to Art.35-A, the Sangh Parivar was unwittingly putting the whole country on fire.
In a statement issued on Monday, Hakeem Yaseen while referring to the commitment made by the BJP in its election manefestive-2019 that Article 35-A was discriminatory, hence shall be removed, said that the people of the state were ready to offer any sacrifice for its safeguard. He said Art.35-A has been there since the times of Maharaja Hari Sing to protect the integrity and interests of the people of the state adding that any tinkering with it shall have disastrous consequences.
Hakeem Yaseen said that no one, who so ever he be, will be allowed to change the demography of the state, come what may. He said people of the state irrespective of caste, creed, region or religion are united to protect Article 35-A and Article 370 which guarantees special status to the state within the Indian Union. He has cautioned the BJP and its allies that any misadventure to tinker with the special position of the state would prove very costly to them.
PDF Chairman has asked the Sangh Parivar to leave day dreaming about abrogation of Art.35-Aand Article 370 adding that these laws are our jugular vein and shall be protected at any cost.
