Election Observers review poll preparedness in Budgam

Budgam: General Observer Karnesh Sharma for five Assembly segments of Budgam, Beerwah and Khansahib, and General Observer Rajesh Kumar Tyagi for Assembly segments of Chadoora and Chari-e-Sharief along with District Election Officer, Budgam Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar Monday reviewed the preparedness for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the district, here at a meeting.

Superintendent of Police, Amod Ashok Nagpure, ADDC, Khurshid Ahmad Sanai, ADC Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani, (IAS Probationer) Dr Bilal Muhiuddin Bhat, AROs, Nodal Officers, Zonal/Sectoral Magistrates, SSTs, Dy DEO and other concerned   attended the meeting.

The Observers interacted with election teams regarding their role and responsibilities. They took review of the preparedness for smooth elections and enquired about the facilities being put in place at polling stations to ensure hassle-free voting.

The Observers stressed on making available Assured Minimum Facilities at all polling stations and emphasized on MCMC/Adv. Certification, implementation of MCC etc and keeping close check on   government employees against indulging in political campaigning during the poll process.

Meanwhile, the DEO Budgam briefed the Observers about the poll preparedness. She said foolproof system has been set up already with regard to all arrangements. She also briefed about the SVEEP activities, EVM/ VVPAT demonstrations, VVIP campaign, installation of assured minimum facilities at polling stations, special electoral camps for PwDs, FLC and randomization status, web casting, expenditure monitoring, security arrangement plan etc.
