National Workshop ‘Fundamentals on Drug Designing’ held at KU

Srinagar: One day national workshop ‘Fundamentals on Drug Designing’ was held at University of Kashmir here on Thursday.
The workshop was organized by Department of Biotechnology, Bioinformatics Centre University of Kashmir and held in Science Block auditorium of the varsity.
Dean Academic Affairs Kashmir University Prof Musadiq Amin Sahafwas the chief guest on the occasion.
He congratulated the department for organizing the workshop and said that Bioinformatics plays an important role in drug designing. “ For the department to thrive there are some important strategies to consider which include an integrated approach in various sciences and technologies, innovative methods in research and development, a proper regulatory system in the drug industry with companies taking up social responsibilities and higher marketing cost,” said Prof Sahaf
Assistant Professor SKUAST K -Shabir Ahmad Ganie was the special resource person on the occasion who briefed the participants of the workshop on relations between bioinformatics and drug designing. He said that this science is a fight of intelligence.
Co-ordinator Bioinformatics Centre and Head Department of Biotechnology Prof Khalid Majid Fazili who was also the co-ordinator of the Workshop welcomed all the dignitaries, teachers, scholars and students on the occasion.
He said that Bioinformatics is an important aspect of all sciences and is important in drug designing as well.
Dr Insha Mushtaq was the organizing secretary of the national workshop. Asst professor Biotechnology Prof Ehtisham-ul-Haq presented the vote of thanks.
