Raipur: Authorities have taken cognizance of the matter regarding the assault on Kashmiri students at Raipur Chattisgarh.
District Development Commissioner Bandipora Shahid Chowdary said that they have taken up the matter with Deputy Commissioner and SSP Raipur.
“Matter regarding alleged assault on students has been taken up with District Magistrate and SSP Raipur. Matter is being enquired,” he said.
Earlier on Wednesday night at least four Kashmiri students all hailing from Bandipora district after they were attacked by miscreants at the canteen of Disha Institute of Management and Technology.
Pertinently, at least 34 students from Kashmir are undergoing training under Himayat project in Chhattisgarh.
Family members of these students claimed that Kashmiri students were targeted at the canteen without any provocation. “I talked to my injured son who said that non-local students used cutlets and iron-rods to inflict injuries upon them. At least four Kashmiri students have received injuries and hospitalized,” he said.
He identified the injured student as Faisal Ahamad Parray son of Mohammad Akabar Parray,Zahid Afazal wani, Son of Mohammad Afzal wani, Naveed Ahamad Hajam son of Nazir ahamad Hajam, Mohsin Salam Rather son of Abdul Salam Rather, all the four students belong to Bandipora area of Northern Kashmir.
An official from Disha Institute of Management and Technology said they have already reported the matter to police and investigation has been in progress. He said that no arrests have been made so for.
