Jammu: Police on Monday filed two separate cases into the raising of anti-national flags, and a scuffle between stranded Kashmiri passengers and students of Science College Jammu.
Officials in Jammu said ‘Police filed two separate cases under FIR numbers 14/2019 under sections 147, 148, 336, 427, 124, 341 (against those who raised anti-national slogans and indulged in violence) and 15 /2019 under section 336 (scuffle between the students and the Kashmiris which led to disturbance)’, adding that ‘investigations have been taken up.
The Kashmiri-bound passengers who are stranded for a week raised anti-government slogans near Kanal road in Jammu “to grab authorities’ attention”. They were demanding either the restoration of strategic Srinagar-Jammu highway or airlifting them to Srinagar. Witnesses said clashes erupted between the students of Science College Jammu and the passengers from Kashmir during which several people were injured and cars were also damaged.
