Srinagar: Police on Wednesday foiled protest march by Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Mohammad Yaseen Malik and his supporters in the civil lines near here, demanding release of all separatist leaders.
Mr Malik alongwith his supporters took out a procession despite rain and snow from JKLF headquarter at Abiguzar near here. However, when the processionists were heading towards main road, police immediately swung into action and stopped them.
After brief resistance, Malik alongwtih several of his supporters were bundled into police vehicle and lodged in police station Kothibagh.
Malik to reporters several separatist and other political prisoners are in detention in and outside state jails for more than two decades.
