2 militants killed in a midnight gunfight in Drabgam Pulwama

Pulwama: Two militants were in the night intervening Thursday and Friday killed in Drabgam village in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district after the government forces launched a cordon an search operation in the area
Confirming the killing of two militants in Drabgam village of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district during a gunfight between the government forces and the militants the Police in a statement said “based on a credible input about the presence of militants in Drabgam area of District Pulwama, a cordon and search operation was launched during the intervening night jointly by Police and the government forces in Drabgam village of Pulwama district in South Kashmir. As the searches were going on, the search party was fired upon by the terrorists. The fire was retaliated triggering a gunfight during which two militants were killed and the bodies were retrieved from the site of encounter.”
Saying that the two slain militants have been identified as Shahid Mushtaq Baba son of Mushtaq Ahmed Baba resident of Drabgam Pulwama and Inayat Abdullah Zigar son of Mohammad Abdullah Zigar resident of Arihal Pulwama, the police in its statement said” both the militants were affiliated with proscribed terror outfit JeM and Baba was wanted by the law for his complicity in terror crimes”.
Police in its statement claimed that Shahid Baba was active in Shopian and Pulwama areas and several cases were registered against him adding that ‘arms & ammunition were recovered from the site of encounter. All these materials have been taken in case records for further investigation and probe their complicity in other cases.’
