Srinagar: A five days training program for forest officers of middle-rung seniority on Participatory Forest Management was conducted at J&K Institute of Management, Public Administration and Rural Development (JK IMPARD), MA Road Srinagar.
During the training Program Specialized lectures on Participatory Forest Management, Forest Development Agencies, People’s participation in Forest Department’s Afforestation Projects like Project Sharakat and Project Re-forest Kashmir and Community mobilization, Techniques,
Specialists and experts from the Territorial Forest, Wildlife and Social forestry Departments deliberated on the issues and related challenges to the sector. The officers also had a Rural Appraisal Study Tour to Mulnaar Village near Dachigam National Park.
The participants included DFOs, Range Officers, Information & Publicity Officer Forest Department etc.
