Srinagar : The armies of India and Pakistan have exchanged heavy gunfire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Tangdhar and Keran areas of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, police said Wednesday.
A police official said that the Pakistani troops targeted 20 Jatt LP in Tangdhar on Tuesday evening and army’s Balbir post in Keran sector on Wednesday morning. he Indian Army retaliated with gunfire resulting in heavy exchange of fire for 15 minutes in Keran sector, the official said.
Senior Superintendent of Police Kupwara Shriram Ambarkar Dinkar said that there was heavy firing from both sides for 10 to 15 minutes, however, there was no report of any causality.
