Srinagar : The Traffic department is soon going to unveil a citizen’s App known as Ride Safe App, which would have all the information about vehicular movement, data regarding the drivers, routes and vehicles plying on the road, Principal Secretary of Road and Transport Dr Asgar Samoon said Thursday.
Samoon was speaking during a meeting to review the traffic management.
The meeting was attended by Transport Commissioner S P Vaid, Divisional Commissioner Jammu through a video conferencing.
He also reviewed Road Accident Data Management System, which is aimed to collect and evaluate comprehensive data regarding accidents and other data gathered by the enforcement agencies.
Dr Samoon gave directions to all SPs of traffic department for early completion of training of two Special Police Officials in each police station on how to use Ride Safe App and quickly inform regarding accidents.
“The application would also help tourists for hassle free travel, besides providing them information regarding all essential services, like hospitals and other recreational places and food joints,” Dr Samoon said. He also directed to make a control room in Traffic Commissioner’s office fully functional within the stipulated time period.
Secretary IT Saugat Biswas, SSP Traffic (Rural) Muzaffar Shah and SSP traffic (city) Tahir Gilani were also present in the meeting.
