Gripped with fear, 1300 Kashmiri students set Oct 17 deadline for revocation of suspension of three students at AMU

Srinagar: Gripped with fear 1300 panicked Kashmiri students at Aligarh Muslim University have set October 17 the deadline for revocation of suspension of three students but the Jammu and Kashmir Government is not even showing intents to take up the issue with the Yogi Adityanath led BJP Government in Uttar Pradesh. The fear gripped Kashmiri students have decided to quit enmass if the university authorities don’t revoke the suspension of three Kashmiri students.
Three Kashmiri students suspended by the University authorities are Waseem Malik of Shopian and Haseeb Abdullah of Baramulla and both the students are undergoing post doctoral research programs at Aligarh Muslim University.
The upset and panicked students telephoned Srinagar Correspondent of Kashmir News Service Correspondent to seek the intervention of the Civil Society and the Jammu and Kashmir Government for immediate intention to settle the issue of the suspension of three Kashmir students.
On conditions of anonymity the students told over phone the KNS Correspondent “After the non Kashmiri students attacked with Lathis and stones the Kashmiri students the scores of Kashmir students were injure and many among them have sustained head injuries. We had initially set 24 hours deadline for the university authorities but seeing the cold shoulder of the University authorities we have set October 17 the deadline for the university authorities to settle the issue of the suspension of three Kashmiri students. So for the university authorities have not shown any seriousness to settle the issue of the suspension of three Kashmiri students”.
Appealing Kashmiri students to come forward for immediate intervention of the Jammu and Kashmir Government to settle the issue of the suspension of three Kashmiri students and safety and security of Kashmiri students across India the Kashmiri students said ‘we are living in AMU campus in a fearful atmosphere and are not sure about our safety here”.
