Srinagar: A small batch of yatris left Baltal base camp for the holy Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas, where so far over 2.83 lakh pilgrims have paid obeisance since the commencement of the 60-day-long pilgrimage from June 28.

The holy Mace will have night halt at Pahalgam to leave for Chandanwari, the first halting station on traditional yatra route. The Mace will reach holy cave on August 26 on Rakshabandan when the annual pilgrimage will conclude.
On the 54th day of the yatra on Monday, 764 yatris had paid obeisance at the holy cave. Till date, he said 2,83,140 yatris had the darshan of the shivling. Over 50 pilgrims, who had night halt at nearby halting stations, have paid obeisance since early this morning.
