Srinagar, Jul 22 : An important meeting of General council of Teachers Joint Action Committee was held at Srinagar under the chair of President EJAC, Chairman Teachers Joint Action Committee Ab Qayoom Wani.
In the meeting the issues of SSA teachers, Head teachers and RMSA Masters were threadbare discussed and all the leaders in the meeting showed their anguish over the delay in implementing 7th pay commission in favour of SSA teachers, Head teachers and RMSA Masters and linking of their salaries with State sector. Over repeated peaceful protests and frequent appeals and mega peaceful demonstration of Teachers on 17th July there are some positive signals from the higher ups of education department and administration but nothing concrete has come out till date which has become a serious concern for teaching fraternity.
All the leaders of Teachers Joint Action Committee thanked the state, provincial leaders, district Presidents, Zonal Presidents, volunteers and teachers in general for their mass participation in 17th July peaceful March organised by TJAC at Sheri Kashmir Park Srinagar and termed the protest a grand and historical one.
In the meeting all the leaders in one voice urged upon the government to issue orders regarding the implementation of 7th Pay Commission and linking of the salaries of SSA teachers, Head teachers and RMSA Masters to state sector.
President EJAC and Chairman Teachers Joint Action Committee Ab Qayoom Wani while addressing the meeting said that Teachers Joint Action Committee is committed in resolving these issues and we will not stop our genuine struggle until all the issues are resolved.
Wani said that delay in providing justice to Teachers has become a grave issue and it is the moral obligation on the part of the authorities at helm of affairs that they should realize the pain and sufferings of the nation builders. Despite the fact that Govt has shown positive approach in solving the issues, but slow process and delay has caused chaos and confusion among the teachers which needs to be redressed at an earliest.
President EJAC while highlighting the role of TJAC, said the Teachers Joint Action Committee will continue its struggle until all the issues are solved.
Keeping continuity in the struggle for the resolution of these human issues, Chairman Teachers Joint Action Committee Ab Qayoom Wani announced that if Govt. failed to resolve these genuine issues upto 27th of July 2018, All teachers, RET’s, Head Teachers, RMSA Masters will hold peaceful protest at their respective Zonal Headquarters on 28th of July under the banner of TJAC. The protest will be held in all the three regions of the state in 220 Zones at the same time.
Wani urged upon the teaching community to be united for result oriented struggle and participate enemas in the scheduled protest program. Teachers are advised to protest peacefully in front of ZEO offices after which a memorandum regarding the issues of SSA teachers, Head teachers and RMSA Masters will be presented to concerned ZEO for onward submission to His Excellency Governor of the State .
He directed all state, provincial leaders, District presidents and concerned Zonal Presidents of TJAC to make preparations for this state wide protest program and arrange combined meetings of all the constituents of TJAC so that the protest would be result oriented, and remain in touch with the teachers of their zone.
Wani said that Advisor to Governor Khursheed Ahmad Ganie, Secretary Education Ringzin Samphel, Directors of Education Gh Nabi Itoo and Rakesh Sarangel, Director SSA /RMSA Tufail Ahmad Mattoo, are positive enough to resolve these issues and we hope Advisor to Governor Khursheed Ahmad Ganie who is also holding the portfolio of Education Department will use his good offices to get this issue resolved by His Excellency Governor of the state N N Vohra for which TJAC has already submitted a representation and memorandum so that teaching fraternity may get a sigh of relief and put all their efforts to shape the future of student community.
He said that we do not want confrontation but at the same time TJAC will not remain silent on the miseries of the teaching fraternity. Wani requested His Excellency Governor of the state N. N. Vohra, Advisors to the Governor B B Viyas, Khursheed Ahmad Ganie, Chief Secretary B V Subramaniyam and Secretary School Education to personally intervene in the matter and issue orders regarding the implementation of 7th Pay Commission to SSA teachers, Head teachers and RMSA Masters and linking of their salaries with State sector, otherwise TJAC will have no option to intensify our struggle the responsibility of which will totally lie on the shoulders of the Government.
