Rahul Gandhi hugs PM Narendra Modi in Lok Sabha

New Delhi: Friday’s no-confidence motion proceedings in the Lok Sabha witnessed a series of dramatic rhetoric in the speech made by Congress president Rahul Gandhi in his foray against Modi government. At the end of his speech, Rahul Gandhi left his seat, approached Prime Minister Narendra Modi and embraced him with a smile. Coming back to his seat, the Congress President emphasised that the act of embracing the Prime Minister was made to exhibit the difference between the ideology of Congress and the BJP.
Rahul Gandhi, in his address, continued his onslaught against the central government, zooming in on issues like agrarian crisis, corruption and crony capitalism. The Congress President attacked the Modi government on a number of issues including unemployment, GST, demonetisation and farmer’s issue. Terming the promises made by PM Modi as ‘jhumla’, Rahul said, “You said every person will get Rs 15 lakh – this is jhumla No 1. You said two crore youth will gets jobs every year, this is jhumla No 2. In 2016-17, all over the country, four lakh people have got jobs according to the labour survey. The Indian youth had faith in the PM as in every speech of his he said he will give 2 crore jobs to the youth.”
Rahul Gandhi added, “The PM is smiling but there is a touch of nervousness in the gentleman and he is looking away from me. He cannot look into my eyes, I understand that. The prime minister cannot be truthful, I understand.”
