Srinagar: Two CRPF men were on Friday killed in a militant attack in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district. A civilian and a CRPF trooper was also injured in the attack.
Police sources said “Militants fired upon a group of CRPF men deployed on law and order duty at Achabal Chowk in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district during which two CRPF men were killed and two others, including a civilian, were injured in the incident.”
The government forces have cordoned off the area and a search operation is on to nab the militants, claimed the police sources.
Meanwhile, militant outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) in a statement to local news gathering agency KNS claimed responsibility for the attack on CRPF party in Achabal area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
