Srinagar: Sub Divisional Magistrate Zeinpora Shopian is virtually posing to be a boss unto himself as he during an inspection of PHE Sub Division Office Zeinpora forcibly kicked out the officials including clerks and class IV employees and locked the subdivision office from outside. The erring SDM directed SHO to arrest the concerned Assistant Executive Engineer but the SHO concerned is yet to comply the directions of the SDM.
Narrating their woeful tale at Kashmir Horizon office in Srinagar a legion of aggrieved officials of PHE Sub Division Zenpora said “We were shocked when SDM Zenpora barged into the PHE sub Division Office Zenpora the time when AEE had gone to WSS Karewa Safnagri to inspect the ongoing work of rapid sand filtration plant targeted for completion by the year end. The SDM forcibly threw us out and sealed the office from outside. He posted a notice in the name of AEE directing him to report in his office”.
However when contacted AEE Parvaiz Ahmed Naik said “ Shockingly the SDM is abusing officials and even class IV employees. Even in my absence he threw out my officials and locked the office from outside. He not only dropped a message asking me to report but directed SHO Zenpora to arrest me and present before him. We have been strictly ordered by the Executive Engineer to monitor the execution of all development works in the sub division”.
When contacted Executive Engineer PHE Division Shopian Nisar Ahmed Shah said “The time when SDM inspected PHE Sub Division Office the concerned AEE was with me for inspection of the ongoing work of rapid sand filtration plant including over head tanks targeted for completion by the year end”.
When contacted SDM Zenpora Mohammad Sayeed Kataria told Kashmir Horizon “Not me but Tehsildar concerned inspected PHE Sub Division Office Zenpora. He found the employees absent there and sealed the office”. When asked about the notice he has put on the social media the SDM said “I have not put the notice on the social me but some employee has put it”. When asked that what action he would take against the official who has unautorisedly put the notice on social media the SDM evaded queries and finally started using abusive language. Locals said that the SDM was in thick of a controversy in June this year when unauthorisedly ordered the suspension of some officials including some gazetted officers but the then Deputy Commissioner Gazanfari Ali refused to entertain the suspension orders issued by him . They also alleged that the SDM has unfortunately earned a bad reputation in the area for abusing the officers and officials of other departments also in full public glare. They claimed that he few months back abused doctors at Sub Disrict Hospital Zenpora and apologised later after a shutdown was observed against the SDM in the area.
