Altaf Bukhari’s mother passes away

Srinagar: Syeda Hafeeza Begum wife of prominent industrialist and businessman Syed Mohammad Iqbal Bukhari and mother of PDP senior leader and former Finance Minister Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari passed away Friday at her home in Sheikhbagh Srinagar.
After a brief spell of illness, the deceased left for heavenly abode Friday morning. She will be laid to rest at family’s ancestral graveyard at Ladoora in Rafiabad in Baramulla district. Nimaz-e-Jinaza of the deceased was offered at Ladoora-Rafiabad at 3 pm on Friday. According to family sources the Chahrum of the deceased will be observed on July 9 at Ladoora. Known for her piety and philanthropic nature, the deceased was an embodiment of values and had dedicated her life to caring for the destitute and people in distress.
Thousands of people including top politicians including Prof Saif Ud Din Soz, Sartaj Madni, Peerzada Mansoor Hussain, AB Rehman Veeri, G N Mong, Gh Nabi Lone Hanjua and others and top civil and police officials attended the funeral prayers in the sprawling Lawns of Eidgah Ladoora. Meanwhile Governor N N Vohra, former chief ministers Mehbooba Mufti, Omar Abdullah and Farooq Abdullah and several other top politicians have condoled the death of the mother of Altaf Bukhari
Governor N.N. Vohra in his condolence message expressed grief over the demise of mother of Altaf Bukhari. He prayed for the departed soul resting in eternal peace.
Condoling the demise of mother of Syed Altaf Bukhari, former Finance Minister and senior party leader,PDP President and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti said that the deceased was also the wife of noted Kashmiri businessman, Syed Muhammad Iqbal Bukhari.
National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah have also expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of wife of noted industrialist Syed Iqbal Bukhari and mother of Former Finance Minister Syed Altaf Bukhari.
Expressing solidarity with the Bukhari family and Syed Altaf Bukhari, Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah have prayed for peace to the departed soul. Party General Secretary Haji Ali Muhammad Sagar, Additional General Secretary Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Provincial Presidents Nasir Aslam Wani and Devender Singh Rana have also condoled the demise of Syed Hafeeza Begum and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
