Srinagar: One among the four tainted sub divisional agricultures officers designated as drawing officers facing enquiry in a case of financial irregularity is proposed to be transferred and posted at a key position at District Agriculture office Budgam.
Top sources told The Kashmir Horizon that Sub Divisional Agriculture officer Beerwah is proposed to be transferred on an elevated position as District Agriculture officer (extension) Budgam despite the fact that state vigilance organisation has already filed a case against him and three other sub divisional agriculture officer as drawing officers under FIR No 01 of 2018 for the irregularities committed in the year 2016-17.
In this case it is being alleged that he has collected rupees fifteen thousand each from fifty Village Agriculture Extension Assistants (VAEA’s) from their salaries. He is also facing allegation of purchasing farm machinery from local market instead from Jammu and Kashmir Agro Industries Development Corporation as per standing rules of the government and drawl of pay arrears amounting to rupees one crore in favor of eight daily rated workers without allotment of funds to the concerned head from the planning wing of the Agriculture Directorate Kashmir.
Director Agriculture Kashmir, Altaf Andraabi when contacted denied the allegations against the official but didn’t deny the proposed posting of the official on an elevated position as District Agriculture officer extension at District Agriculture office Budgam.
Commissioner Secretary Agriculture M D Khan when contacted didn’t bother to pick the phone and within short time he shutdown his mobile handset.
