Islam is derived from the word salaam which means peace.it is a religion of peace.Islam simply means submission to God. The name islam is conferred on the divine religion. The Glorious Quran says, “This day i have perfected for you your religion and have bestowed upon you my bounty in full measure and been pleased to assign for you Islam as your religion.”Allah is the creator and owner of all things. He will award or punish all according to their deeds: none is free from His grip. The submission to Allah should be total and complete. The Glorious Quran says Believers, enter completely into Islam and do not follow in” the footsteps of Satan, for he is your avowed enemy. (2:208) via Quran .
Islam is the name chosen by Allah for the religion approved by Him for human beings. All the Messengers sent by Allah from Adam to prophet Mohammad (SAW) broughtthe same religion Islam. The glorious Quran says” He has prescribed for you the religion which He enjoined upon Noah and which We revealed to you (O Muhammad), and which We enjoined upon Abraham and Moses and Jesus, commanding: “Establish this religion and do not split up regarding it.” What you are calling to is very hard upon those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity. Allah chooses for Himself whomsoever He pleases and guides to Himself whoever penitently turns to Him. (42:13)via Quran .Islam is complete code of conduct. Islam is called the dean ul fitrah or the natural religion of man. All religions basically exhort mankind to be righteous and eschew evil but Islam goes beyond that. It guides us towards practical ways of achieving righteousness and eliminating evil from our individual and collective lives. Islam takes into account human nature and the complexities of human society. Islam is guidance from the creator himself.
Islam is a practical, universal religion not confined to any ethnic group or nationality. Allah is described in chapter 112 of the Quran as ”He is Allah, the one and unique Allah, who is in need of none and of whom all are in need. He is comparable to none”. Allah encourages a person to understand events in the context of the overall purpose of life, which is to acknowledge Allah and obey him. He created humans beings with intellect and free will to test them as to who will willfully choose to follow His guidance but Pride of colour or race was absolutely condemned by the Prophet. In his last sermon, the Prophet is reported to have said: The Arab is not superior to the non-Arab; the non-Arab is not superior to the Arab. You are all sons of Adam, and Adam was made of earth. Verily all Muslims are brothers…”
