Srinagar: Terming imposition of Governor’s rule and end of PDP-BJP bonhomie in the State as ‘non-issue’ for the people, United Jihad Council (UJC) on Tuesday said that it is ‘foolish and unrealistic thinking’ to hold those responsible for Shujaat Bukhari’s killing who had differences with his ideology.
In an e-mailed statement issued to local news gathering KNS, UJC spokesman Syed Sadaqat Hussain quoted the amalgam Chief, Syed Salah-ud-din as saying “the imposition of Governor’s rule and end of alliance in the State are insignificant for the people here as the State governments are always follow the directions of their masters in the New Delhi.”
According to the statement, speaking at a high level meeting of UJC, Salah-ud-din said, “the militant outfits may have reciprocated the Ramadhan truce and dialogue initiation if Indian leaders could have been sincere about it.”
“Talks for the sake of dialogue have failed in the past and will fail in the future as well. Holding talks without accepting the ground reality will prove futile,” he said, adding that “accepting the ground reality at an earliest is better for the world’s peace.”
He said that “the muscular policy adopted to suppress the freedom enthusiasm of people will prove futile as such policies were adopted in the past as well but that created more enthusiasm among the people rather than suppressing it.”
“It is important to accept the ground reality for the lasting peace of Kashmir and to give people Right to Self-determination as promised,” he said.
Meanwhile, UJC chief said that the killing of Dr Shujaat Bukhair is condemnable act and also condemned the blaming those who had ideological differences with him for his murder, terming it as “foolish, unrealistic thinking.’
He also asked the Kashmir Bar Association and Human Rights Organizations to play their role in exposing the faces behind the killing of Shujaat Bukhari. UJC chief also warned that ‘the atrocities being committed on the people will result in a big human tragedy.’
He also expressed concern over the silence maintained by International organizations and urged Pakistan to play its role in gaining the attention of world community by starting a diplomatic campaign.
