Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani on Monday alleged said that the incumbent government in Delhi has set forth is looking for excuses to create 1990 like situation in state to justify the use of lethal weapons against unarmed and innocent youth.
In a statement issued here Geelani said ‘our economy has always remained easy target & it is their well thought ploy to make every soul dependant’. Geelani alleged the the intents of the government in Delhi is to ‘kill each soul in the state, cripple our economy & that from day first’ adding that ‘ authorities in Delhi were hell-bent to cripple & crush our economic infra structure, create sense of insecurity & are very desperate to see us holding begging bowel’.
Geelani also said” state forces are now targeting peaceful protesters near encounter sites and asked the justification of showering bullets and pellets over innocent civilians. It is sheer vengeance, said Geelani and forces are simply taking revenge from civilians’.
Geelani reiterated that instead of law and order problem, Kashmir is a political and humanitarian issue and military might can’t silence us or break our resolve adding that ‘if authorities think they can deter us from pursuing our birth right then they are mistaken and suggested to realize ground realities of Kashmir issue’.
Taking dig at stubborn attitude of Indian authorities, Geelani said” repressive measures will prove counterproductive and it is better to accept the peoples decree for right to elself-determination, resolve issue and accept people’s verdict. It will prove beneficial both for India and its people, said Geelani”.
Blaming law enforcing authorities for continuous bloodshed in state, Geelani said “we are not even allowed to mourn our slain youth. Syed Ali Geelani payed his heartfelt tributes to slain youth in Cheddar Kulgam and while condemning the killing of two civilians (Shahid Nazir Hajam and Shakoor Ahmad Dar) and showering pellets over peaceful mourners. He alleged that the incumbent government in Delhi and army generals have virtually given their nod to army against innocent civilians and approved it as their state policy.
Condmning the house and police detention of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Mohammad Yaseen Malik, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai, Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar and others, Geelani said that nowhere in world we perceive such type of arrogance.
