Kargil: Shia sect of Muslims in the Ladakh region celebrated the Eid-ul-Fitr, marking the end of holy fasting month of Ramadhan, with religious ferver and gaiety.
However, sunni sect of Muslims will celebrate Eid tomorrow in the region.
Thousands of people, including women and children, joined Eid prayers in Eidgahs, open fields and mosques in Leh and Kargil. People in traditional and children in colourful dresses were seen offering special Eid prayers.
