Srinagar: Several Civil society groups have questioned the moral right of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Clerical Association to continue the strike after getting twenty percent hike in the recent implementation of 7th pay commission recommendations by the government.
Groups of respectables from Baramulla, Budgam, Kupwara and Shopian districts expressed their displeasure over the way clerks continue their strike even after getting twenty percent hike in their salaries as per 7th pay commission recommendations implemented by Jammu and Kashmir government from April this year. The respectables urged the clerical association to immediately call off their strike in the larger public interests and resume their duties to mitigate the sufferings of the people.
Meanwhile, Finance Minister Syed Altaf Bukhari has invited office bearers of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Clerical Association for a meeting to be attended by Chief Secretary and members of the committee constituted to look into the demands of agitating clerks including pay anomaly.
A letter issued from the office of Finance Minister reads Minister for Finance, Labour and Employment has desired to convene a meeting on May 06 2016 at 5pm at Banquet Hall Srinagar to discuss the issues related to clerical cadre. Chief Secretary J&K and Principle secretary finance will also be participating in the meeting in which the office bearers of the Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Clerical Association including President Mohammad Sultan and five others have been invited.
President Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Clerical association Ali Mohammad Mir while welcoming the Finance Minister’s invitation for talks said that the main issue on the Agenda would be 2010 pay anomaly and we will surely resume duties only if government issues the formal order to accept the demand on Pay anomaly.
