Akhtar’s tweets come just days after former Pakistan captain and flamboyant batsman Shahid Afridi took to Twitter to express anguish over what he said appalling and worrisome situation in Kashmir.
Afridi has tweeted to react against the killings of 17 Kashmiris, including 13 militants and four civilians, in clashes with the government forces in twin districts of Shopian and Anantnag in south Kashmir on April 1, 2018.
“Appalling and worrisome situation ongoing in the Indian Occupied Kashmir. Innocents being shot down by oppressive regime to clamp voice of self-determination & independence. Wonder where is the @UN & other int bodies & why aren’t they making efforts to stop this bloodshed?” tweeted Afridi.
