Srinagar: Life returned to normal in the summer capital, Srinagar and north Kashmir after remaining paralysed for three days due to strike and restrictions following killing of four civilians and 13 militants in Anantnag and Shopian.
However, life remained crippled for the fourth successive day due strike in south Kashmir district of Shopian while business and other activities remained partially affected in the twin districts of Kulgam and Pulwama on Thursday.
Shops and business establishments reopened in Srinagar and all other major towns and tehsil headquarters in north Kashmir on Thursday. Traffic was also plying normally on all routes.
Business and other activities resumed at all business hubs in summer capital, Srinagar and traffic was also plying normally. Work in government also resumed while educational institutes also reopened though clashes and protests erupted in many colleges and universities in Srinagar.
Reports of normalcy were also reported from this and other north Kashmir towns and tehsil headquarters, a report from Baramulla said. Shops and business establishments reopened and traffic plying on all routes in entire north Kashmir.
Life was reported to be normal in central Kashmir district of Budgam, where business and other activities resumed this morning.
However, business and other activities remained affected in Kangan and adjoining areas in Ganderbal, where a youth was killed during clashes with security forces on Tuesday.
Normal life was paralyzed for three days in the entire valley due to strike and restrictions following killing of four civilians and 13 militants in three separate encounters in south Kashmir on Sunday, when three Army jawans were also martyred.
