Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front(JKLF) chairman Yasin Malik on Tuesday urged the civil society to come up with solutions to continue “resistance struggle”, rather than criticizing the separatist leadership, which “benefits the enemy.”
Malik, who was speaking here at a progamme organized by High Court Bar Association, said the present ruling regime in India intends to push people of Kashmir into submission.
He said some people in the civil society are raising questions over united separatist leadership. “These people are busy in raising questions about leadership and resistance programs and are critical of everything leadership is doing. But the irony is that no one among these people is coming up with any solutions, suggestions or concrete proposals to counter Indian hegemony,” said Malik.
Urging for unity among all section of society, Malik said that National Investigation Agency (NIA) is being used as a tool against separatist leadership and some people castigating the leadership on this basis is helping the enemy. “Many people in Kashmir have got intimidated and now these people come out with statements against unity and leadership so that oppressor is pleased with them,” he said.
Malik added said since the separatist leadership united in 2016, they have been able to counter all RSS-backed plans including separate township for Kashmiri Pandits, sainik colonies, state subject to west Pakistan refugees and repealing of state subject law.
Meanwhile, paying tribute to advocate Jalil Andrabi on his “martyrdom anniversary”, Malik said he was a pioneer of freedom struggle. “He was a true son of soil who despite threats to his life never budged before oppression and sacrificed his life for the righteous cause”.
“Besides being a commendable jurist and an intellectual, he was a courageous person who till his last breath worked for the betterment of society and human rights of the people of Jammu Kashmir,” said Malik.
