Srinagar: Former Chief Minsiter Omar Abdullah on Thursday took a jibe at Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti amid reports that Kathua minor rape and muder case will be handed over to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The case is presently being handled by Crime Branch of Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Omar said if case is handed over to CBI, âit will be another installment in the price she (Mehbooba) is paying to remain chief ministerâ.
Taking to social networking site, Twitter, Omar wrote: âThe case is being handled by the J&K police. If @MehboobaMufti agrees to hand the case over to the CBI it will be another instalment in the price sheâs paying to remain CM.â
Earlier, Minister of State in Prime Minsiterâs Office, Jitednra Singh said that there is no problem to hand over the case to CBI if people donât have faith in polcie.
âIf people feel that they donât have faith in the police or crime branch investigation and the case needs to be handed over to the CBI, I donât think there is any problem,â Tribune newspaper had quoted Union minister Jitendra Singh as having said.
