Srinagar: District Bar Association Baramulla on Tuesday condemned the statement of Superintendent of Post office Baramulla Vijay Chowdary in which he had proposed to shift the Post Office Pass port Seva kendra from Baramulla to neighbouring Bandipora district.
According to a statement issued Tuesday, a meeting was chaired by Bar president Advocate Abdul Salam Rather in response to media reports regarding the shifting of the already sanctioned Pass Port Kendra at District post office Baramulla.
“The members of Bar Association Baramulla expressed their deep anguish over the aforesaid news item and the stand taken by Superintendent of Post Office Baramulla Mr Vijay Chowhdary regarding the establishment of same,” it said.
The bar association members impressed upon all the concerned authorities that they shall in no case do any such act which may be detrimental to the establishment of Pass Port Seva Kendra at the district, it said.
The bar alleged that Superintendent of Post office Baramulla is trying to supersede the authority and directives of chief minister Mehbooba Mufti with some “ulterior motives behind”. “It was further impressed upon all the authorities concerned that they shall establish the same within the vicinity of District Head Quarters on war footing so that general public feels sigh of relief,” it added.
