Jammu: The Speaker assembly Kavinder Gupta here on Monday said that the remarks of NC MLA have been already expunged and issue stands settled.
As the house started its proceeding, the BJP MLA R S Pathania stood up and demanded criminal proceedings against NC MLA from Sonawari Mohammad Akbar Lone for raising pro Pakistan slogans in the house on Saturday last week.
Responding to the BJP demand for initiation of criminal proceeding against Akbar Lone for raising pro-Pak slogans in the house on Saturday this week, the senior National Conference leader and NC MLA from Khanyar Ali Mohammad Sagar told the house that National Conference President Faarooq Abdullah has already made a categorical statement on the party position and speaker himself has expunged the remarks.
Intervening in the discussion CPI(M) Secretary and MLA Kulgam M Y Tarigami said “since the speaker has already expunged the remarks and house has disapproved what Akbar Lone said last Saturday. No one should try to make an issue of it. Jammu & Kashmir is passing through a very critical stage and all concerned should rise above the levels of political affiliation to take the state out from the present messy situation”.
