Matter regarding wearing of headscarf during police training to be taken up with DGP: Veeri

Jammu: Minister for Revenue, Parliamentary Affairs, Hajj & Auqaf, Abdul Rehman Veeri Saturday informed the House that the matter regarding wearing of headscarf by girls during training in police will be taken up with the Director General of Police.
The Minister said this after the issue was raised by MLA Kargil Asgar Ali Karbalie during Zero Hour in Legislative Assembly.
Meanwhile, several members raised various public interest issues related to their respective areas in the Legislative Assembly during the Zero Hour.
M Y Tarigami suggested for adopting a resolution to appeal the central government to ensure safety of Kashmiri students studying in educational institutions outside the state.
Shamim Firdous asked the government to conduct interviews for the posts advertised earlier for various positions in Srinagar Municipal Committee.
Mohammad Khalil Bandh demanded establishment of Dry Fruit Processing Industry in Pulwama Constituency.
Shakti Raj Parihar demanded for expediting opening of Doda Campus of Jammu University and urged the government to launch PG classes in Degree College Doda till the University Campus is made operational.
Bashir Ahmad Dar urged the government to repair and renovate all damaged transformers in his Constituency.
Vikar Rasool Wani demanded for proper maintenance of National Highway at Banihal.
Mubarak Gul demanded for providing of Bullet proof vehicle to the legislators during their tours.
Rajeev Sharma also participated during Zero Hour and raised various public importance issues pertaining to his Constituency.
Raja Manzoor Ahmad demanded for posting of Gynaecologist and other specialist doctors at District Hospital Karnah.
Choudhary Mohammad Akram urged the government to install additional hand pumps in his Constituency to resolve water shortages in the area.
Mohammad Akbar Lone asked the government to expedite release of compensation for the orchardists, houses damaged and families affected due to 2014 floods of his Constituency.
Pawan Kumar Gupta urged the government for establishment of Solid Waste Management at Udhampur and asked them to ensure adequate availability of drinking water facilities for the people of Udhampur constituency.
Dr Krishan Lal demanded for expediting pace of ongoing construction work on bridges in his Constituency.
Mohammad Yousuf Bhat advocated for providing adequate medical and paramedical staff in all health institutions in his Constituency.
Gulzar Ahmad Wani also took part in the Zero Hour and urged the government to resettle revenue halqas in his Constituency.
Abdul Majid Larmi also raised public importance issue pertaining to his Constituency and demanded for early redressal of concerns.
Abdul Majid Padder urged the government to ensure adequate drinking water facilities and for installation of additional tube well in Noorabad Constituency.
Neelam Kumar Langeh urged the government to ask the Executing Agencies of Baglihar Power Project to release 2 percent CSR for the development of parks and other developmental works as already committed by the Company.
Choudhary Qamar Hussuain asked the government to provide adequate medical and para-medical staff in all health institutions of his Constituency.
Yawar Ahmad Mir and R S Pathania asked the government to provide authentic and articulate replies to the Questions raised by the legislators.
Mohammad Shafi Uri raised the issues pertaining to Home department besides bringing to the attention of the government the increasing incidences of theft in Uri market. He urged the government to take a serious note of the matter and take appropriate action.
Shah Mohammad Tantray demanded for conducting a survey in Poonch Constituency to identify the left out, remaining BPL families and asked the government to include them so that benefits of the social welfare schemes can be extended to them.
Ravinder Raina demanded for bringing various areas of his constituency under the new Administrative units.
Usman Abdul Majid asked the government to provide adequate drinking water facilities to the people of his Constituency especially Pathikot, Kralipor and Gurez Basti areas.
Javid Ahmad Rana demanded for early release of funds under different schemes including NABARD. He asked the government to expedite the pace of work on various ongoing construction works for roads in his Constituency.
Noor Mohammad urged the government for immediate repairs and renovation of Sheikh Parimpora-Qamarwari road. He asked the government that the directions issued by the Speaker should be circulated among the legislators for information and perusal.
Jeevan Lal demanded the government for expediting of construction work on all ongoing road projects in his Constituency.
Aijaz Ahmad Khan demanded for undertaking construction work on double-laning of the 15 Kms road stretch in Wachi at the earliest.
Dina Nath Bhagat demanded for strict action against Director, Health Services Jammu for non- seriousness approach of medical staff at Udhampur Hospital in providing ambulance to the pregnant women which lead to death of the baby.
Altaf Ahmad Wani asked the government to ensure availability of essential commodities to Kashmiri Pandits on the eve of Mahashivratri.
