Srinagar: Terming the curbs imposed by authorities in wake of ‘Shopian Chalo’ call as “state sponsored terrorism”, Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik on Friday denounced the state government.
In a statement, JRL said that spree of arrests, nocturnal and day raids, imposition of curfew are a glaring example of the “farce Indian democracy practiced in Jammu Kashmir”.
They said by disallowing separatist leadership to mourn the killings is a “state sponsored terrorism”.
Saying that killings have become now unbearable, JRL in a statement said: “…seven innocents have lost their lives and many including two innocent girls are battling for their life,… this genocide is going on from last many decades but the way Indian soldiers at the behest of their political masters have expedited this killing spree from last some months and it has turned utterly horrible and unbearable now.”
JRL said that Kashmiris cannot tolerate this genocide silently and leadership will do whatever possible to stop this “aggression”. Taking a dig at pro-India politicians, JRL said that killings are carried out in Kashmir with impunity and these “so called” leaders make only announcements for probes in the assembly.
