Jammu, Jan 20: As pandemonium continued in legislative assembly over the demand for the suspension and attachment of SP Kathua and concerned DySP and SHO on charges of inaction against those responsible for the murder and rape of a minor girl in a village in Hiranagar area of Kathua district, the parliamentary affairs minister Ab Rehman Veeri and Minister for Disaster Management Javed Mustafa Mir one after the other announced the suspension of the SHO of the concerned area of the Kathua district.
Raising the issue during debate on the motion of grant for the transport department the Congress MLA Usman Majeed alleged that police authorities did not visit the place where the murdered girl was kept hostaged in a cow shed for seven day and sought immediate suspension of SP Kathua and DySP and SHO of the concerned area.
As other opposition members shouted slogans “We Want Justice, Ladli Beti Ko Insaf Dou, Qatiloon Ko Be Miqab Karo”, Usman Majieed amid noisy scenes sought the attention of the speaker towards BJP MLAs including Rajiv Jasrotia the MLA of the concerned area of the Kathua district who were seen laughing over the cries of the opposition members against murder of a minor girl in Kathua district, the MLA of the concerned area Rajiv Jasrotia accused the opposition of communalizing the situation trigerring slogan shouting against the BJP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.
Though parliamentary affairs minister Abdul Rehman Veeri assured the opposition that the guilty will be sternly punished, but oppositions members were not satisfied with the reply of Veeri and continued slogan shouting till the two PDP ministers Abdul Rehman Veeri and Javed Mustafa Mir announced ‘the government’s decision to suspend the SHO of the concerned area of the Kathua district till the completion of inquiry and action against guilty’.
