Jammu: At least six passengers were killed and 17 others injured as mini bus skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday afternoon.
”A mini bus ferrying passengers on way from Udhampur to Ramnagar tehsil met with an accident near Khagote and fell into a deep gorge,’’ police here said.
They said that six persons died on the spot while 17 others got injured.
”Police and locals immediately swung into action and started the rescue operation,’’ police added and said that injured have been evacuated and rushed to the district hospital.
Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti has expressed grief over the death of six passengers who were killed in an accident in Ramnagar area of Udhampur district Saturday.
The Chief Minister has conveyed her heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families and prayed for peace to the departed souls
The Chief Minister has also wished the 24 other injured passengers a speedy recovery. She has also directed the divisional administration to ensure all medical facilities to them.
