“India righty asks UK to apologize for Jalianwala Bagh massacre, but is itself answerable on Kashmir massacres’, Says Mirwaiz

Srinagar: While remembering the 57 civilians killed in cold blood by Indian Border Security Forces personnel in Sopore town on this day way back in 1993, Kashmir’s chief cleric Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has sought justice for the victim families.
In his latest tweets, Mirwaiz worte:“As India rightly asks UK to apologize for the brutal #JalianWalaBaghMassacre, we in #Kashmir today are commemorating 25 years of one of the scores of such massacres that we have suffered. The #SoporeMayhem when 57 civilians were brutally killed in cold blood by the Indian forces…and property including 120 houses and 400 shops burnt down by them and none of the perpetrators held accountable. When will we get justice we ask?”
Pertinently, Sopore town observed a shutdown to commemorate the death anniversary of these victims. All shops and business establishments remained closed while transport also remained off the roads.
The call for shutdown has been forwarded by Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik.
