Zulfkar for effective e-PDS implementation

Jammu: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs and Tribal Affairs Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali Friday reviewed the progress in implementation of electronic Public Distribution System (e-PDS) in the state and directed for taking immediate steps to remove lacunae, if any, in the functioning of the system.

He further called for identifying left over souls that can be included in the PHH category so that no one remains deprived of his right, besides ensuring that only genuine persons are included in the list after conducting proper verification.

While discussing the progress on the execution of Supply Chain Management in the state, the Minister directed the officers to start the work on implementing supply chain management on the portal by December 1, 2017.

It was informed in the meeting that total 6,98,380 ration cards have been distributed among the consumers in Jammu division while as 800 new fair price shops have started functioning in the Valley. The Minister directed the concerned officers to distribute the remaining ration cards by December 5, 2017and start the process of preparing ration cards for West Pak Refugees.

The Minister also sought information regarding Biometric attendance of the employees especially Stores and Assistant Directors’ Office. The Minister called for preparing a module for handling PoS machines and provides training to the fair price shop owners regarding the same.

The Minister directed the concerned to ensure that the variation in the target reports shall be reduced to zero for both PHH and NPHH category within next 10 days.

Reviewing the status of division wise target of ration cards for Aadhaar seeding, it was informed that total 63,644 beneficiaries have been seeded from Kashmir and 38,197 seeded from Jammu division in the assigned target w.e.f November 7, 2017 to November 23, 2017.

He further asked the officers of FCS&CA to ensure cent percent Aadhaar seeding of ration cards and their linkage with bank accounts to ensure transparency and accountability in the system.

To strengthen the monitoring system in the department by geo-tagging of its assets through Geographical Integration System, the meeting was informed that mapping of 6071 fair price shops have been completed against the target of 6553 and entries of details of the Vigilance Monitoring Committee on the portal is completed for 5219 FPSs out of 6553 till date.

Director, FCS&CA Kashmir, Joint Director, FCS&CA Jammu, Deputy Directors, Assistant Directors of Jammu Division besides officers of National Informatics Centre and other departments were present in the meeting.
