Haji S.M.Murad Bukhari (RA): A brief introduction

Hazrat Haji Syed Muhammad Murad Bukhari was born at Iskanderpora in the year 780 Hijri calander and left for heavenly abode in the year 861 Hijri . Laid to rest at Muradabad Kreeri in Baramulla district the annual urs of Hazrat Haji Syed Mohammad Murad Bukhari (RA) is being observed every year on 17 th Dhul Hijja. The descendents of Haji Syed Muhammad Murad Bukhari are a prominent lineage of “SUHARWARDI SADAAT”. Hazrat Haji Syed Mohammad Murad Bukhari (RA) was son of a famous saint of times Syed Fakharudin Bukhari (RA) whose tomb is in the historical Budshah tomb in old Srinagar city. Hazrat Syed Fakharudin Bukhari (RA) was the youngest son of Hazrati Syed Aloudin Bukhari (R.A) son of Syed Jalal Ud Din Surkhposh Bukhari who came from BUKHARA to what is now in Pakistan. His tittles are -qazi ul qauzaat, -jami ul kamalaat -mamba’a ul fuyuz wal barakat.He had four sons- Syed Mir Sa’eed Bukhari, Syed Abu Saeed Bukhari, Syed Noor Syed Bukhari and Syed Haider (R.A).
Hazrat Mir Syed Haji Mohammad Murad Bukhari got his early education from his uncle Syed Ziya ud Din Zeerak Kandhami in Kandhama and grand father. His grandfather Hazrat Syed Allo ud Din Bukhari (RA) decided to send him for further education to Iraq later. During his travel Hazrat Haji Syed Mohammad Murad Bukhari (RA) met Shaikh Ishaq Rumi (R.A).It is said that Shaikh Ishaq Rumi Shattari got astonished to see Hazrat Haji Syed Mohammad Murad Bukhari (RA) in his home and told him “Oh my son I saw Shaikh Syed Abdul Qadir Jeelani (RA) in my dream and he said oh ishaq rumi tommorow my son is comming to you, teach him and tell him to make allegiance with you .After making allegiance with Peer Ishaq Rumi (A) he became the successor for shatariya silsila (sufi chain of shattariya)

After getting knowledge of jurisprudence from Peer Ishaq i Rumi (RA) and Shaikh Ishaq Rumi gave him the flag which is said to be used in jung i uhad (battle of uhud) . Thereafter Hazrat Syed Haji Mohammad Murad Bukhari (RA) left for another hajj and on the way to hajj in Khwarizim Iran Hazrat Haji Syed Mohammad Murad Bukhari (RA) meet SHAIYKH ABDULLAH BARZISH AABADi who was the khalifa successor of master of Sufi Kubravi order Mohammad Najmuddin Kubra who gave him the knowledge of ahadith.

After serving muslims all over Kashmir finally Hazrat Haji Muhammad Muraad Bukhari left for heavenly abode on 17 Dhul Hijja Islamic calendar in Kreeri where his holy shrine is located. Hazrat Haji Syed Mohammad Bukhari (RA)’s tomb was first constructed by SULTAN UL WAIZEEN Mir Syed Hamzatul Bukhari

It is said in MARVA UN NEHAR Shaikh Abdullah Barzishabadi made him his successor and then Hazrat Syed Haji Muhammad Murad Bukhari (RA) went to Rome and syria and different areas for dawat i islam .He (Hazrat Syed Haji Mohammad Murad Bukhari-RA went to perform third hajj and after performing the third hajj Hazrat Haji Syed Muhamad Murad Bukhari came back to Kashmir when king of Kashmir was ZAiN UL AABADEEN and spent further years of life in Kreeri in seclusion and meditation .It is recorded in tazkira tul awliya that king zain ul aabadeen approached Hazrat Haji Syed Muhammad Murad Bukhari (RA) to migrate for Jamia Masjid of downtown Srinagar but Hazrat Syed Haji Muhammad Murad Bukhari (RA) refused the proposal because Hazrat Haji Syed Muhammad Murad Bukhari (RA) adopted the life of faqir. After serving muslims all over Kashmir finally Hazrat Haji Muhammad Muraad Bukhari left for heavenly abode on 17 Dhul Hijja Islamic calendar in Kreeri where his holy shrine is located. Hazrat Haji Syed Mohammad Bukhari (RA)’s tomb was first constructed by SULTAN UL WAIZEEN Mir Syed Hamzatul Bukhari .

[Miracle of Hazrat Haji Syed Mohammad Murad -RA]

BABA SHAKUR UD DIN GHAZI(R.A) was the pedagogue of BABA PAYYAM UD DIN RESHI (BABA RESHI). Baba Reshi was the pupil of Baba Shakur ud din ghazi (R.A) as well as server. Baba Reshi(R.A) was serving his mentor in several ways like fetching water for his mentor’s ablution & also for other purposes. He used to collect water from the WULAR Lake, continuously even in winters. One day Baba Payam ud Din Reshi(RA) suffered from a disease on his right shoulder because of carrying utensils full of water on his shoulder for his mentor. When Baba Shukur ud din Ghazi(RA) noticed that Baba Reshi (RA) is suffering from a disease he ordered him to go to ”MURADABAD” now a days KREERI were you can found treatment for your sickness.

TREATMENT
When Baba Payyam ud din Reshi(RA) came to kreeri,And he step foot inside the compound. He saw a Toddler who was the son of HAZRAT SYED HAJI MUHAMMAD MURAD BUKHARI(AL SHATARI,AL NAQVI).Baba Reshi picked the infant up and put him on his shoulder,but the toddler piddled on his shoulder due to which his shoulder got healed up & he got the treatment for his sick shoulder (SUBHANALLAH)
