Srinagar: Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front Thursday alleged that from day one, present ruling regime in Jammu Kashmir is conspiring to shatter the economic back bone of Kashmiris, by bulldozing the importance of economic hubs like Lal Chowk ,Sheher-I-Khas and Batamaloo.
“Shifting Bus stand from Batamaloo is part of this ugly conspiracy,” this was stated by the chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement issued here on Thursday. Terming the shifting of Batamaloo bus stand as a conspiracy to harm economy of Kashmiris, JKLF chairman said that PDP regime from its first day has been hatching conspiracies to destroy economic hubs like Lal Chowk, Batamaloo and Sher-I-Khas. Shifting of important offices and institutions like Courts, heritage schools, bus stands and other important public places and institutions from Lal Chowk, Sheher-I-Khas and Batamaloo like important places is part of a larger plan to destroy economy of Kashmiris and damage the historical importance of Srinagar especially Sher-I-Khas, Lal Chowk and Batamaloo.
JKLF chairman said that for every important city and place foot-fall is taken as of paramount importance and the way RSS backed present regime has enhanced efforts to diminish this foot-fall in our main city is actually a proof of its animosity towards the people of Jammu Kashmir. He said that shifting bus stand from Batamaloo means putting business of thousands of Kashmiris into jeopardy and ruining their lives and their families but so-called rulers seem to have lost every human and social instinct and are hell bent on destroying the lives of Kashmiris that too without any shame. Shifting of institutions like district courts from Lal Chowk and imposition of curfew and restrictions in Sher-I-Khas which has actually shattered the business and businessmen and now shifting of Bus stand and annihilating thousands of shopkeepers and businessmen is part of the conspiracy that is being practiced to inflict harm to Kashmiris, added JKLF chairman.
He said that Kashmiris are aware of these anti-people plots of so-called rulers and will resist these nefarious designs. Meanwhile JKLF has strongly condemned the custodial killing of a student martyr Shahid Ahmad Mir at Handwara and termed this as an extra judicial murder of yet another innocent Kashmiri. JKLF district president Kupwara Rafiq Ahmad War along with a delegation visited Tarethpora Kupwara and participated in the funeral prayers of the innocent martyr. Rafiq Ahmad War addressed a condolence meeting at martyr’s residence and expressed solidarity with his bereaved family. While paying rich tributes to martyred youth martyr Shahid Ahmad Mir, JKLF district president said that we stand by them in this hour of grief.
