Separatist leaders continue to be under detention

Srinagar: Senior separatist leaders including Syed Ali Geelani, Shabir Ahmed Shah, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Aga Syed Hasan Almosvi Alsafvi continues to under house detention. All these leaders were not allowed to take our rallies or visit the martyrs graveyard here in Srinagar city.
Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik is languishing in Central Jail Srinagar.
“I have been under house detention from past couple of days. We were not allowed to organize a function to pay tributes to July 13 martyrs. The government did not have the courage to fight the resistance leadership politically and is as such banning their peaceful activities, placing curbs on their movement and arresting them, and in a way accepting their defeat,” senior separatist leader Aga Syed Hasan said.
He termed the detention of these pro-freedom leaders as undemocratic. “The entire resistance leadership has a clear stand against the anti-Kashmir and anti-people policies and that the policies which are aimed at harming the interests of Kashmiri people,” he said. (CNS)
