Srinagar/June, 23: Life returned to normal in south Kashmir, barring some areas, after remaining affected for a day yesterday due to spontaneous strike in protest against the killing of a civilian in security force action and three militants on Thursday.
Shops and business establishments reopened and traffic was plying on all routes normally in Pulwama, where a spontaneous strike was observed against the killing of a youth Touseef Ahmad Wani in security force action on protestors.
Massive protests were triggered in Pulwama in view of killing of three LeT militants in an encounter with security forces on Thursday morning at Kakpora.
Security forces and state police personnel remained deployed to prevent any law and order problem.
Life also returned to normal in Anantnag, Shopian and Kulgam districts of south Kashmir after remaining paralysed for a day yesterday.
Business and other activities resumed and work in government offices was also normal today.
Officials said that there will be no class work in Higher Secondary Schools (HSS) and Degree College as precautionary measure as there was apprehension of violence Shopian.
However, majority of the educational institutes remained closed in entire south Kashmir.
Meanwhile, life remained affected in Kakpora and adjoining villages, where the militants were killed. Two of the three slain militants belong to that area.
