Srinagar/June 2: The three separatists who were questioned by National Investigation Agency in New Delhi have returned to the Valley on Thursday.
The tri including Chairman National Front Nayeem Khan, Farooq Ahmad Dar alias Bitta Karrate and Javed Ahmed Baba alias ‘Gazi’ of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat led by Syed Ali Geelani, were questioned by NIA sleuths in New Delhi for three days for their role in 2016 unrest and alleged funding from Pakistan for fomenting trouble in valley.
“We returned yesterday from New Delhi,” Khan was quoted as saying by local news gathering agency KNS. “We went with a clean slate and returned with a clean slate,” he added.
Earlier, the NIA questioned Khan at his Jawahar Nagar office. Khan and other two are a part of the inquiry initiated after NIA took cognizance of the news channel reports about alleged funding for 2016 unrest by Pakistan.
However, Khan has denied the allegations of receiving funds for stone pelting and burning schools as shown in the sting operation of a New Delhi based news channel India Today.
He has said the videos of India Today as doctored and the audio was not in sync with his lip movement. “Some old videos have been edited to defame the sacred movement of Kashmir,” he had said.
