Pulwama attack aftermath: Not working against freedom movement, says Bhartiya Modi Army

Srinagar/May,1: The attack on Pulwama youth on Sunday evening has sent activists of lesser known outfit ‘Bhartiya Modi Army’ (BMA) into a tizzy as out of fear they have abandoned their native places.
Nisar Ahmed, a youth from Prichoo area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district was fired upon by suspected militants. The wounded youth who happens to be the District Vice President of BMA is battling for life at SMHS Hospital Srinagar.
District President Pulwama, BMA, Showkat Ahmed who was accompanying Nisar Ahmed when a group of militants stopped them said that militants pumped three bullets into the body of Nisar before thrashing him. “It was around 9:30, we both were walking in a street, when a young man stopped us and directed us to follow him saying that some people want to talk to us. Sensing trouble, I managed to give them a slip and hid myself in a corner while Nisar tried to persuade them that he has no affiliation with Bhartiya Modi Army. Militants asked him to desist from anti-freedom movement activities; however, he entered into an argument with them. They first thrashed him and then pumped three bullets into his body,” said Showkat Ahmed adding he is fearing for life and reluctant to visit home.
Shabir Ahmed who also hails from Pulwama district and is State General Secretary BMA said two weeks back, he received a threatening letter from unknown quarters in which he was asked to desist from anti-freedom movement activities. “I was asked to resign from BMA and make an announcement in Jamia Masjid Pulwama,” he said.
Almost all the activists of BMA claimed that they face threats and need protection. “We are not affiliated with Bhartiya Janata Party but are following Modi ideology,” said All India National Youth president BMA, Haroon Nabi Lone.
All India General Secretary, BMA, Dr Manzoor Khan while condemning the attack on Nisar Ahmed said they are neither anti-movement nor anti-militant but their main objective is to work for the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi. “We are Modi ideologues and want his schemes and policies to get implemented in Kashmir which is far behind Jammu in terms of development,” Khan said.
He claimed that Bhartiya Modi Army has more than thirty-thousand members across Jammu Kashmir. Khan who unsuccessfully contested 2008 elections from Bandipore constituency as an independent candidate says that his only aim is to help people of Kashmir.
