Srinagar: While the students in major schools in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district are angered over the non availability of subject experts, the District Education and Planning Officer Anantnag Fayaz Ahmad is reported to have virtually overtaken the powers and authority of Chief Education Officer in the postings of newly recruited teachers appointed as subject experts through proper selection process on the recommendations of J&K Services Selection Board (J&K SSRB) recently.
Authoritative sources told Kashmir Horizon that while the newly recruited teachers had to be posted as subject experts at the schools where the non availability of subject experts had been reported, the authorities of district education office Anantnag posted them at places where subject experts are already available forcing them even to travel long distances of more than fifty kilometers to reach their places of postings. “Consequently teachers whose services are required for the academic work in schools are doing the job of clerks at district education office Anantnag for last several years and an increasing unholy nexus between the teachers-turned-clerks and authorities has put in command the raw hands at district education office Anantnag”, the sources said .
No contact could be established Director School Education Younis Malik and Secretary School Education Department Sarita Chauhan for knowing their response to the increasing administrative waywardness at district education office Anantnag as they as they did not pick up repeated calls from Kashmir Horizon Office.
