Dy. Mayor Srinagar, Sheikh Mohammad Imran’s Journey from ‘Mujahid’ to ‘Chowkidaar’ is full of awe, amusement, deception and deceit. Such colourable behaviour has been exhibiting from politicians in Kashmir since past. They first preach pro people sentiment and then shun the path and even denounce their philosophies and political faiths according to situation favorable to them, maximize their personal gains. Although I do not have reservations for Sheikh Imran’s decision of moving from verbal Mujahid scarecrow to ‘staunch Chowkidaar’ but I want to ask my fellow people why so much diatribe on Sheikh Imran’s U-turn only when we have been witnessing the same political mischief played with us for last several decades by our political leaders. It would have never been a matter of concern for us if ill strategies of mainstream have not been engulfing our people and our rights day in and day out.
Starting right from Ghulam Mohammad Sadiq and descending to Sajad Gani Lone and Sheikh Mohammad Imran, who did not changed their identity from bad to worse only but have compromised their ideologies, sentiments and nationalism. Those except few who didn’t switched over and kept maintaining their malignant nature at same positions and with the same parties, could not came true to expectations of the people. Let me ask my people that why do we forget and forgive those who have been repeatedly pushing Kashmir and Kashmiris to deep gorges or why do we board same ferry again and again which has been sailing us to storms and thereby sinking and killing us in a middle of deep sea. I get confused whether to call it our misfortune, dead conscience, favouritism, weak memory or our romance. May sense prevail that KASHMIR NEEDS NO GOOD OR BAD POLITICIAN BUT DEFINITELY NEEDS AN HONEST LEADER/ REPRESENTATIVE. At last I want to remind entire mainstream to stop being turn courts for your own pity interests, plead what your people wish you to plead, so that you can create a space not in political spectrum only but in the hearts of the people.
