Srinagar/May,8: The Governor’s Secretariat, which had closed at Jammu on 28th April evening, reopened at the Raj Bhavan, Srinagar, Monday morning and Governor was briefed on the current situation in Kashmir by top officials including Chief Secretary, Director General Police and 15 Corps Commander.
As the Governor’s secretariat reopened here in the summer capital, Governor N. N. Vohra went around the various wings of the Raj Bhavan and met the officers and staff of the Governor’s Secretariat. He advised all the functionaries to ensure cleanliness, efficiency, promptitude and proper maintenance of the official records. He also directed time bound digitization of all important records and de-weeding of irrelevant papers. The Governor also went around the Raj Bhavan estate and directed assured readiness of the fire fighting system and proper upkeep of the gardens. Umang Narula, Principal Secretary to the Governor accompanied the Governor.
Late in the day Governor N.N. Vohra held a series of meetings in which he was briefed about the maintenance of Law and Order and Internal Security related issues by Sh. B.B. Vyas, Chief Secretary; Dr. S.P. Vaid, DGP; Lt. Gen. J.S. Sandhu, GOC 15 Corps and the heads of Central Intelligence Agencies. Raj Bhavan Spokesman said besides briefings about the implementation status of important state and central development projects the Governor will be having extensive discussions with Mehbooba Mufti, Chief Minister.
