Shopian: Deputy Commissioner Shopian Dr Owais Ahmad Thursday convened a meeting with coordinators of various coaching centres to discuss operationalisation of tuition centres in the district.
During the meeting detailed discussions were held on registration of the coaching centres, class wise enrolment, fee structure, list of candidates under reservation quota, list of faculty members and their qualification and other related issues.
The DC said the students of the district have shown outstanding performance in various fields and need of the hour is to guide them in a proper way. He enjoined upon Coordinators of coaching centres to provide an educational environment to the students with modern facilities including heating, seating, lighting and toilet facilities. He exhorted for the upliftment of students in general and particularly children belonging to under privileged class of society under 10% reservation quota. He stressed for the installation of CCTV cameras in and outside the coaching centres to keep close vigil upon the activities of students.
Among others ADC Shabir Hussain and other concerned officials attended the meeting.
