Kargil: Several public delegations from Drass, Tai Suru and other areas called on the Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan and Executive Councillor for Health Zakir Hussain and projected demands of the people of their respective areas.

The delegations apprised the CEC and the EC Health of issues like snow clearance from internal roads, resumption of SRTC bus services, augmentation of water and power supply, ration, medicare facilities and other related demands.

A delegation from Drass took up the issue regarding the posting of Block Medical Officer, doctors and paramedical staff for Sub District Hospital Drass.

The CEC directed the EC Health to look into the matter and assured the delegation that all their genuine demands shall be fulfilled within a week’s time positively.

Former Executive Councillor Tai Suru Aga Syed Abbass Razvi took up the matter regarding the malfunctioning of DG set at village Purtikchay.

The CEC gave on spot instructions to the Deputy Commissioner Kargil to direct the EM&RE PDD Kargil to rectify the DG set at the earliest so as to restore power supply to the village.

Meanwhile, other delegations from Drass and Tai Suru during their meeting with the EC Health demanded for early operation of SRTC bus services to their areas and snow clearance from the internal roads of village Trongjun, Goshan and Bearass.

It was accordingly decided in the meeting to resume SRTC bus services between Kargil to Drass, Thasgam Drass, Parkachik and Khaws immediately and the schedule of the buses was also finalized.

The EC also issued on spot directions to Mechanical Division Kargil to start snow clearance on the internal roads.
