Srinagar: The traffic on Srinagar-Kargil highway was on Friday restored after remaining suspended for eight consecutive days.
Traffic officials said the highway was closed last week due to heavy snowfall after which hundreds of passenger vehicles and trucks were stranded on both sides of the highway.They said ‘after completion of the snow clearance work the stranded vehicles from Kargil were on Friday allowed to move towards Srinagar. Traffic will be allowed from Sonamarg side tomorrow once the stranded vehicles from Kargil side are cleared’
