“For speedy redressal of all complaints and grievances, and to ensure outcome-oriented resolution of genuine complaints and grievances, the three Advisors to the Governor shall meet and hear the grievances of individual citizens, delegations, deputations and civil society organizations both at Jammu and Srinagar regularly. They shall also hold review meetings to address to issues and grievances which get escalated to the Governor’s Secretariat” said a communiqué issued by the Governor’s Secretariat.

It said the Advisors shall, apart from public interactions, take stock of the grievances pertaining to their departments and review outcome-based disposal of the complaints with the Nodal Officers of the departments under their control.

It said following his visit to the J&K Government Grievance Cell, Church Lane, Srinagar, on 11 July 2018, the Governor has issued a series of instructions to ensure effective and speedy redress of public grievances.

As per the instructions issued by the Governor N N Vohra in this regard, Advisor to Governor B B Vyas shall hear public grievances from 10 am to 12 noon every Monday at JK Governor’s Grievance Cell at Church Lane, Sonwar, Srinagar and from 10 am to 12 noon at Banquet Hall Jammu every Friday.

As per these instructions, the J&K Government Grievance Cell will now be called “J&K Governor’s Grievance Cell” and shall function both in Srinagar and Jammu, under the administrative control of the Governor’s Secretariat. Principal Secretary to the Governor shall be responsible for the overall functioning of the Cells at both the Capital cities.

The Governor’s Grievance Cell shall continue to be serviced by Project Management Unit (PMU) to be headed by Inam-ul-Haq Siddiqui, KAS, Additional Secretary, who has been re-designated as Project Director Governor’s Grievance Cell.
