Baramulla: Paramilitary troopers allegedly opened fire on students when they were protesting against the unabated civilian killings in Nadihal Rafiabad area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Eyewitnesses said that protesting students clashed with deployed Forces over civilian killings. As youth pelted stones, Para military troopers opened fire wounding a student who has been identified as Manzoor Ahmed Lone of Nadihal Sopore.
Medical Superintendent, Baramulla hospital, Dr Syed Masood said that Lone has suffered a bullet injury in his right thigh and was shifted to Srinagar hospital for treatment .
A police official said that investigation has been started to probe the matter. “Initial reports suggest that students had blocked the road and stopped vehicles. They pelted stones on Forces vehicle,” he added.
